I wrote an article for the Complex Weavers Journal on My Beetle Collection.
Two of my beetles were on display in Florida during the Tampa Bay Convergence as part of a Complex Weavers sponsored exhibit. Photos of all the pieces are on the Complex Weavers website. I am bummed I was not able to view the exhibit in person - many of the pieces look exceptional.
Now back to my 'weaving wanna do' list...

Conversations in Fiber
The Southern California Handweavers Guild had their annual Weaving and Fiber Festival at the Torrance Cultural Center on Sunday. I was on the committee that spearheaded the Guild challenge for this year - it was called Conversations in Fiber.
This was the first exhibition of the Guild's annual challenge to its members. Each artist was challenged to have a conversation in fiber with either Georgia O'Keeffe or Piet Mondrian and use at least one of the conference colors from the upcoming fiber conference in Riverside called Color Connects. These conference colors are vibrant and saturated. These pieces will be exhibited again...in a different format at the conference in early March 2009.
Check out the photos. There were some simply outstanding pieces and of course great conversations everywhere! Thanks to all the artists that participated and to Carolyn who displayed the pieces with finesse and artistry.
